Why can't I download the PDF version of document?

The package you downloaded from Burgeonsoft Web site does not contain PDF converter plug-in.
If you need the feature of PDF conversion, please contact Burgeonsoft.

Problem 1: I didn't see [Download PDF] button

If you're unable to see [Download PDF] button in a document properties page, it might be:

  1. You don't have this operation privilege. Please change the user group privleges or the document entitlements.
  2. The document does not support conversion to PDF. Currently, DocCare supports to convert following file format to PDF:
    • MS Office files, including .doc, .xls, .ppt
    • Web pages, including .htm or .html
    • Text files, including .txt, .csv, .tsv
    • Other formats, including .rtf, .wpd, .odt, etc.

Problem 2: Error message shows when I click [Download PDF] button

If you see an error message when you click [Download PDF] button and message says:
The PDF of this document is not available. Please check if PDF Converter plug-in is correctly installed. If PDF Converter is installed correctly, please try to download pdf again.
The reason might be:

  1. You don't have PDF Converter plug-in correctly installed. See How to install PDF converter plug-in
  2. The document existed in DocCare before you installed PDF converter plug-in. When you click button [Download PDF] the first time, DocCare will check if the PDF file exists. If not, DocCare will try to generate it. So you can click on this button again to download the PDF.

If the error message says:
DocCare failed to create PDF version of this document.
The possible reason might be:

  1. You don't have OpenOffice correctly installed. Install OpenOffice and start OpenOffice as Service.
  2. You don't have parameter OOSERVICE_PORT set correctly. The value of the parameter must be the same as the listening port of OpenOffice service.
