Search Document

DocCare provides a quick and convenient way for user to search document by any keywords.
DocCare limits the search scope for users who are from different departments. So even if two users from different department search document with same keywords, they might get different search results.
DocCare supports full-text search of the following document formats: MS Office documents (doc, xls, ppt), PDF, plain text files, web pages, rtf files, RFC822 emails and DocCare template documents.
For other document formats, DocCare will search keywords in title, alias, descriptions, author, extension and user-defined attributes.

You can input the keywords directly at the right upper corner of the resources view, then press 'Enter'. The search result will display at the lower part of the page. See figure below:

Each item in the document search result is made up of the following parts:

  • Document description. You can edit the document description when you upload the document or in the document detail page.
  • Abstract. If the document support full-text search, DocCare will display abstract (<200 chars) in the document search result.
  • Document code, creator and modified time.
  • User-defined document attributes. You can add custom attributes when you upload the document or in the document detail page.
  • Address of the document. DocCare will only display the address you have right to enter. You can click on the address to enter the folder or workspace.
