Workspace

DocCare2 workspace is a logical view to present a set of business related documents. In the real enterprise running, business documents usually have some relationship with business entities. For example, a project may contain a set of documents like requirements, project plan, meeting minutes, pricing list, contract etc. However, these documents probably belong to different department. The requirements may be owned by Pre-Sales and R&D team. The pricing list may be owned by financial department. In such cases, user can create a workspace and place the project related documents in it. See figure below:
DocCare2 supports three types of workspace:

• Public Workspace (Everyone can access this workspace and browse/download documents in this workspace).
• DocCare2 Workspace (Every registered DocCare2 Users can access this workspace).
• Member-Only Workspace (Only a set of selected DocCare Users can access this workspace).

Workspace Document

A workspace document is not a physical document. It’s only a link to a department document. DocCare2 allows users to create different workspace documents which link to a same department document.
The entitlements of a workspace document are different according to the different workspace types.

• For Public Workspace, users can only browse or download documents in this workspace.
• For DocCare2 Workspace, all DocCare2 registered users can browse/download/modify/delete the documents in this workspace. The entitlement affects all DocCare2 registered users.
• For Member-Only Workspace, only assigned workspace members can   browse/download/modify/delete the documents in this workspace. For example, the project has a member A from financial department and a member B from R&D team. The workspace member privilege setting limits member A can only download the contract, B can only read/modify the contract and the project leader can read/modify/delete the contract.
